Conversiobot Review. Is it a Scam?

I’ve finally gotten around to writing up this Conversiobot review and at first I had some reservations about it being a scam, but it isn’t and honestly, it can work for certain types of online marketers (advanced).

Me personally being part of that advanced level, I don’t think it’s something I need and in this review, I’ll explain who this product may be better for (or not for) as well as what else you need to know such as how it works and so forth.

The usual disclaimers about this Conversiobot review:

1) I didn’t buy it.

2) I have researched it through various reviews of people who have and base this review partly on that.

3) The other part of this review I’m basing things on is my vast own experience in this field (I am an affiliate marketing expert).

A short summary and review of Conversiobot:

Who created Conversiobot?

Imran S and Simon Wood.

How much does Conversiobot cost?

$27 for a 1 license plan (for one site) and $37 for unlimited sites.

What is Conversiobot all about?

It’s a software program that you install to a certain page on a website you run (like an affiliate page promoting something or a product landing page where you’re selling something).

This program basically installs a “chat bot” to your site to entice people who are browsing your page to do things like:

  1. Opt in to your email list.
  2. Increase the odds of the browser buying the product (like Clickbank products_.
  3. Add more communication and “flavor” to your landing page to increase conversions overall.

My rating for Conversiobot: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Do I recommend Conversiobot? Not really.

If you’re really advanced in online marketing, you may find uses for this tool, but overall, for someone like me, I find chat bots to be a little bit annoying and either prefer not to have/see them on a site and/or to speak to a REAL person.

I would even argue that in my opinion chat bots can even inhibit conversions if you frame the argument properly.

Furthermore, people who do online marketing (but fail) typically misplace the reasons for it and look for fancy tools and enhancements thinking that will fix their conversion problems when in reality, it’s the fundamentals they need to focus on to make money online (and I will be explaining what I mean in this review).

A deeper review of Conversiobot:

how conversiobot works example screenshot

One of the best ways I can explain how this program works is by literally telling you to go to the official Conversiobot.com website and using their own chat bot for reference.

That’s one of the things that I did and I’ve included a screenshot to the right of this text to give you an example.

The first thing to understand is that if you buy this program, you will be able to edit what the chat bot says on whatever site you want it to be installed on.

You can basically create triggers and responses for the chat bot to be activated and what to say depending on what the visitor to your site types in or asks.

In this case, you can see the “dialogue” I had with the chat bot.

There isn’t really much (though it can be edited) and in my opinion, I found this annoying (but you may have a different opinion if you try it).

This is basically what your experience with using Conversiobot will look like. Furthermore, here are a few sources where I found a lot of my info on regarding this program:

Can Conversiobot actually increase your conversions? Yes and no:

Conversions can be simple and complicated at the same time and this is important to understand if you’re going to make a decision on whether or not Conversiobot is good for you or not.

Let me explain:

Here’s the simple part:

Conversions are basically you creating a landing page or an online sales funnel in a way that “makes sense” to make people who visit that page do something you want them to: Buy a product, opt in, ect…

Let’s say I have an online sales funnel that talks about “10 affiliate marketing hacks” and wants people to opt in to receive a free eBook on that subject. Whatever it is that I do to make more people opt into this offer is whatever it is I’m trying to do to increase conversion rates. More people opting mean means my conversion rate goes up.

That’s pretty simple right?

Now onto the complex part:

Putting that basic template into action isn’t all that difficult. In fact, you can set up a landing page with such an offer in under 30 minutes if you know what you’re doing. But that’s just the start, here’s what else you’ll need to do:

  • Know how to send the right, targeted traffic to that landing page (paid or organic).
  • You’ll need to know how to optimize the site if the conversions suck.
  • You’ll need to track how people are viewing this page and where you can make improvements.

These essential things require experience in understanding conversion funnels and it’s a practice you will have to become acquainted with if you intend to succeed online, whether as an affiliate or vendor.

Where Conversiobot fits into this picture:

Think of Conversiobot as an “add on” to the example I just gave you on the 10 affiliate marketing hacks landing page. In addition to having the essentials set up, you’ll also set up a chat bot to be available in case people want to get more info and will “install” certain responses to that chat bot such as “Get this eBook before it’s too late!”.

Such messages MAY help increase conversions, but overall, I find it unnecessary and once again, in my opinion, annoying. You can and should be able to get great conversions on any landing page if you follow proper fundamentals.

Conversiobot CAN help, but overall, I don’t think it’s necessary. Again, I have to point out the metaphor of using fancy tools to compensate for fundamental knowledge (it has to be the opposite for success to happen in my experience).

It’s one of the reasons I don’t recommend Clickfunnels too by the way (same analogy).

Conclusions: Conversion success relies on very basic fundamentals (less so fancy tools):

  1. Targeted traffic (and knowing how to drive it to your site).
  2. A proper understanding of your niche audience and it’s needs.
  3. Giving people valuable content.
  4. Knowing basic setups to make a good landing page.

These are fundamentals and if you can get this right, you won’t need fancy tools to cover for a lack of it. I’ve consistently gotten high conversions when following these fundamentals and have applied them across many of my online sales funnels including:

  1. Email marketing affiliate campaigns and getting up to 20%-30% opt in rates.
  2. Making high ticket affiliate sales at about 5%-10% in some cases.
  3. I’ve even had certain funnels reach over 40% in conversions.

I know how this works very well and if you need more proof, see the following case studies:

I also have more, but these should be enough to make my case.

You can argue that adding Conversiobot to these examples MAY have increased my conversions, but based on what I know about funnels, I doubt it would. I would even make the argument that it would have the opposite effect (that’s my opinion) and that’s because I like to keep things simple and don’t like to talk to bots in general.

If you feel differently, then perhaps you can find uses out of Conversiobot, but again, I would strongly recommend you know your stuff in online marketing. I doubt beginners will be able to utilize this tool as intended (because it’s only 1 ingredient of many that you need to make this all work).

And if you are a beginner, again: Fundamentals are what determine your success online and for that, Wealthy Affiliate is what I’d strongly recommend you build your business of.

    • Hi James I honestly can’t give you an accurate answer for this (nor anyone of any age). I can tell you that making money online takes time and is real, but it also depends on how you apply what you are taught and it sounds like you would benefit from the Wealthy Affiliate program in this instance.
